Tainted Links: Web of Sins

Tainted Links takes place in a small, fictional coastal village in the United Kingdom called "Sodom". While the origin of the village has been lost to history, it is widely rumoured that the name is a reference to the biblical city of Sodom. This claim is "proven" through the village's lack of credible history. So, word of mouth spreads far and fast. The village has a bad reputation because of the proclamation, "History is destined to repeat itself." They say God will strike Sodom down for its sins a second time. (Or that He at least keeps a closer eye on it because of the naming convention.)

While there isn't an exact year that the project is set in, we use elements that are directly inspired by the late 2000's and early 2010's.

Environment and Setting

Sodom is sandwiched between the rural England countryside and a larger urban city. While it has a place of worship and basic facilities, the village lacks modern necessities. Residents who live here rely on the nearby city for sustainable jobs. Due to the economic recession, Sodom is ripe with poverty. Upkeep on utilities and buildings are lacking; residents' houses rely on rusty pipes and gas stoves. The bad omens surrounding the village keep the houses affordable, despite the coastal access.

Overlooking the coastline rests a high class neighborhood. These privledged few are made up of wealthy relocators, seeking a nice beach home or cheap place to rent out. The middle and lower class residents are often immigrants, or people seeking affordable refuge.
